Nail Technology is the care of the hands, nails, and feet. Students in the two-semester Nail Technology Program learn how to per­form manicures, spa pedicures, hot stone pedicures, sculptured acrylic nails, fiberglass and silk wraps, gel nails, and nail art. In addition, students learn profession­al development skills, successful salon management, and the responsibility of book­ing and servicing clients. The Nail Technology Program is conve­niently held as a day program, just two days a week. The program also only requires two semesters, for a total of 24 Credit Hours.

State Legal Requirements for Eligibility for Licensure

Nail Technicians are required to be licensed by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology in the state of Alabama. Upon completion of the program, graduates should obtain an application for the examination from the instructor and mail to the Alabama Board of Cosmetology.
