LBW Community College is experiencing a slight increase in fall semester enrollment and credit hours comparing data on the same date last fall semester to this year.
“On Sept. 10 last year, enrollment reflected a total of 1,708 and this year on the same date enrollment is 1,722, an increase of 0.82 percent,” said Renée LeMaire, LBWCC public information officer and director of marketing.
“In credit hours, an increase of 0.96 percent is reflected in comparing this year’s 16,687 to the same date last fall at 16,529. For those who may not understand the significance of credit hours and why we track it so closely, it represents income for the College and it’s the number on which we base budget decisions.”
This year’s numbers are subject to change during the term, she said.
“We are certainly pleased with the comparison so far. At this point, we are still enrolling high school students in dual enrollment classes, and a second mini-term starts for some programs in October. Both of these will impact final fall semester numbers, as it does every year.”
