LBWCC Reveals New Bus
The Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Foundation recently purchased a new, student bus with funds raised from the inaugural ‘Day of Giving’ last year.
The goal was to raise $140,000 for a 35-seat bus to transport LBWCC students to athletic and skills competitions, leadership development events, and cultural enrichment opportunities.
“The bus will provide the students of LBWCC safe and reliable transportation for many years and the foundation is happy we were able to have a part in providing it to our students,” said Mark Parker, President of the LBWCC Foundation.
On behalf of LBWCC President, Dr. Chris Cox, the college would like to thank the foundation and all contributors for this generous gift. We are grateful for the combined support of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends in helping us achieve this goal that directly impacts our students.
“We are excited to now reveal our newly designed bus, which would not have been possible without the generous contributions from our local communities and support from the Foundation,” said Dr. Arlene Davis, LBWCC Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement.
Contributions of any amount can be made online using a credit or debit card through LBWCC’s website, www.lbwcc.edu, using a secure PayPal link. Checks made payable to LBWCC Foundation should be mailed to P.O. Box 1311, Andalusia, AL 36420.
