Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBW) is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program.
The results, released today in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 199 colleges and universities. In all, 76 of those institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.
LBW was specifically recognized for excellence in the compensation and benefits category.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor and a reflection of our entire Saints family,” said LBW President Dr. Brock Kelley. “At LBW, we are committed to creating an environment where faculty and staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work. When we invest in our people, we invest in the success of our students and our communities.”
The Great Colleges to Work For® survey is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. The results are determined through a two-part process: an institutional questionnaire capturing employment data and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The most important factor in determining recognition is employee feedback.
The program is administered by ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm that conducts research on workplace culture.
