Female Entrepreneur to speak at LBWCC Graduation

LBW Community College welcomes Alabama-based wedding dress designer, motivational speaker, television personality, and industry leader, Heidi Elnora as the 2021 commencement speaker on May 14, 2021.
The female entrepreneur is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design. She is a wife and mother of three children and is nationally and internationally known. Founded in 2006, the heidi elnora Atelier is a bridal brand that reflects timeless femininity rooted in raw, southern heritage.
“We are looking forward to having such a notable individual serve as the commencement speaker,” said LBW President Dr. Brock Kelley.
“Heidi Elnora has a special story and I believe the graduates will appreciate her enthusiasm and advice to apply to their future following College.”
The Alabama native served as a contestant on the second season of Project Runway and later starred in her own reality show on TLC, Bride By Design. In conjunction with her flagship store located in downtown Birmingham, she is the founder and CEO of Build-A-Bride™, a line of boutiques throughout the Southeast.
Her notoriety includes features from numerous national and international publications including The New York Times, The Today Show, Martha Stewart Weddings, Glamour, US Weekly, Town and Country Weddings, The Huffington Post, Country Living, and Southern Living plus many more along with well-known blogs.
Her community impact stretches far beyond her atelier. The designer founded and served as the creative director of Birmingham Fashion Week for six years. She continues her mission of inspiring the next generation of designers through Camp Fashionista, a weeklong summer program for young girls with a passion for fashion.
The College looks forward to having Heidi Elnora serve as the speaker for the Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Kiwanis Community Center. There will be a 10:00 a.m. ceremony for students receiving an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or an Associate in Science (A.S.). A second ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. for students receiving an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) or Certificates.
