Many four-year colleges and universities offer scholarships to students transferring after attending LBW. Students should visit each institution's website to review transfer scholarship offers, details, qualifications, value, and deadlines.
LBW Community College is fortunate to partner with many four-year institutions who offer automatic transfer scholarships specifically to LBW students based on students GPA and credit hour completion. Students must inquire with the partner institution to apply for these automatic scholarships.
Auburn University at Montgomery - will award a SPAN Transfer Partnership Scholarship totaling $7,000 ($3,500 per year) to any LBW Community College student who has completed 45 academic credit hours with a 3.0 – 3.49 GPA. Transfer Scholarships are for face-to-face programs only. Scholarship information can be found online at Transfer Partner Scholarship - AUM.
University of North Alabama – scholarships of $2,000 of tuition value of traditional (face-to-face) courses will be extended to all regular, full-time, transfer students whose grade point average is between 2.00 and 2.99, who do not qualify for either Community College (3.0 with 30 transferable hours) or Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships (3.25 with 30 transferable hours and a recommendation from PTK advisor). The scholarship will be an awarded rate for each consecutive course of the program, up to one years (30 hours) to complete their undergraduate degree. Scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship or discount and students may not have attended another four-year institution. LBW students may be eligible for a Transfer Housing Scholarship if they are members of PTK and have a 3.75 transferable GPA. University of West Alabama- offers academic scholarships dedicated to LBW students with a 3.0 or better GPA ($3,000 - $4,000 per year renewable for up to 4 consecutive semesters.) LBW students who receive academic scholarships will also be eligible to apply for housing scholarships ($2,000 for their first year, non-renewable) to assist with and encourage on-campus residency. Auburn University at Montgomery - AUM will award one full-tuition and fees scholarship to a new AUM transfer student from LBW who has completed 45 academic credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.5. The recipient must maintain full-time enrollment (in a face-to-face program), a 3.0 AUM GPA, and participate in AUM’s Transfer Ambassador program to sustain their scholarship through graduation.
Jacksonville State University - Jacksonville State University will offer one Presidential Transfer Leadership Scholarship valued at full tuition and is renewable for 1 year. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.5, completed 45 transferable credit hours, be classified as a first time transfer student and and commit to serve as a Transfer Student Mentor during their first year at Jacksonville State.
The University of Alabama – The University of Alabama will award a scholarship covering the cost of tuition (for up to four semesters). It will be awarded to at least one student at LBW who has completed at least 45 transferable credit hours toward a non-technical associate degree at the end of the Fall 2025 semester. The minimum GPA requirement to be considered is 3.5.
Troy University - Troy University will offer one student a $12,000 per academic year tuition-only scholarship for 2 years, excluding summer. The student must be an Alabama resident and have earned a minimum of 45 transferable credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.5. The student must maintain full-time enrollment status and an institutional GPA of 3.0.
Applicants who wish to be considered must meet GPA requirements, have completed an admission and scholarship application to the transferring school, and plan on enrolling at that school for the Fall 2026 term. The deadline to complete the online Presidential Transfer Scholarship Application is February 6, 2026.
**The University of Alabama at Birmingham – Beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year, students interested in the Presidential Transfer Scholarship to UAB will apply through UAB's BSMART application.
