Program Description
Esthetics Technology includes the specialization and study of skin care. Students learn how to provide preventative and maintenance care for the skin through the use of various products and machines.
Our program offers a wide variety of training in the following areas:
- Histology of the skin
- Electrotherapy
- Microderm
- Chemical Peels
- European Facials
- Massage
- LaStone Therapy
- Body Waxing
- Makeup
- Body Treatments
Admissions Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED or completion of the tenth grade.

Job Opportunities
The Esthetics Program is designed to provide beginners or existing professionals with knowledge and skills for employment as estheticians in a day spa, medical spa, or in a medical office with cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment of skin care specialists will increase 11 percent through 2028.

State Legal Requirements for Eligibility for Licensure
Estheticians are required to be licensed by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology in the state of Alabama. Upon completion of the program, graduates should obtain an application for the State Board of Examination from an instructor and mail the completed application to the Alabama Board of Cosmetology.
