    Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC)

The MSSC is an industry-led, training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line production and material handling workers, like those in the automotive industry. MSSC ensures competency in critical work functions of manufacturing and logistics, with ROI data showing 70 – 80% higher performance by those credentialed by MSSC. Companies can be confident that individuals hired with these certifications possess the core skills and capabilities they need to be successful.

    Certified Logistics Technician (CLT)

The CLT Certification addresses the core technical competencies of higher skilled, front-line material handling and distribution workers in all supply chain facilities: from factories to warehouses, distribution centers and transporters. MSSC awards the foundational-level Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and the mid-level Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certifications. The CLA is a prerequisite for the CLT and both courses are approximately 28-30 hours. The curriculum consists of entry level skills such as global supply chain logistics, material handling, safety principles, quality control, teamwork and communications to mid-level skills such as product receiving and storage, inventory control, and dispatching and tracking operations.

    Certified Production Technician (CPT)

The CPT Certification addresses the core technical competencies of higher skilled production workers in all sectors of manufacturing. MSSC awards certifications to individuals who pass any of its Production Modules: Safety, Maintenance Awareness, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Quality Practices & Measurement; and a full Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certificate to those who pass all four original modules.

For more information on the CLT or CPT certifications, please contact: Jennifer Hall at (334) 493-5315 or jmh@lbwcc.edu.
