Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
In the past air conditioning was considered a luxury. Today it's a necessity. Therefore, the need for technicians is greater than it has ever been. Students learn basic theory, fundamentals, application of domestic and commercial refrigeration, and residential and commercial air conditioning. Through this program they earn the skills needed to become successful technicians.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook 2018-2019, median hourly earnings of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics, and installers are $22.89.
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, opportunities should be excellent for mechanics and installers with technical school or formal apprenticeship training. Employment of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is expected to increase up to 15 percent through 2026.

The LBWCC ACR program features extensive hands-on lab exercises with industry standard equipment. The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program features extensive hands-on lab exercises using industrial and residential equipment. The ACR computer lab provides CATTRAX software to train students on electrical diagrams, heating and A/C systems, and refrigerants. Students are encouraged to take nationally-recognized certification exams, offered online in the ACR computer lab.
