February 11, 2015 – Institutional Leadership Committee for SACSCOC Compliance Review met and selected QEP sub-committee to guide topic selection process

February 12, 2015 – Email sent by S. Levitzke to announce College-wide QEP meeting

February 23, 2015 – Email sent by H. Riedel to reaffirm importance of QEP and broad representation in topic selection process

February 2015 – Sub-committee reviewed institutional data, including SWOT analyses, survey results, and course-level data, as well as past QEP topics from other schools. List of 23 possible topics developed.

March 6, 2015 – College-wide meeting held. Faculty and staff reviewed and discussed possible topics and voted on their top choices. The following six were selected: academic and career planning/goal mapping/advising, critical thinking/problem solving/analytical skills, work ethic, first-year experience, study skills/academic behaviors/college readiness, and soft skills.

April to August 2015 – QEP focus group conducted with students from Andalusia, Greenville, and MacArthur Campuses.

September 3, 2015 – QEP sub-committee met and narrowed topics down to three choices based on faculty, staff, and student feedback. S. Levitzke sent out survey link, and faculty and staff voted for top QEP topic.

October 8, 2015 – H. Riedel sent email announcing QEP topic and issued call for volunteers to serve on permanent QEP Committee.

November 4, 2015 – S. Lightsey selected as Chair of QEP Committee.

November 16, 2015 – S. Lightsey spoke with Dean Jessie and President Riedel to learn their desired areas of focus, which included a high quality advising and orientation process, engagement, and mentoring, because these elements lead to student retention and success.

November 17, 2015 – S. Lightsey met with Dean Linton to learn her desired areas of focus, which are career coaching, advising, and orientation.
