Tutoring


Lurleen B. Wallace Community College provides programs and services that assist student in obtaining and reaching their academic goals.  The College provides tutorial resource labs at each campus and in cooperation with the Student Support Services Program, recruits professional and peer tutors to assist students.  All tutorial labs are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  These services are provided free of charge to students.

Tutorial instruction is available for the following courses: 
    • Basic English 093
    • English Composition 101 & 102
    • Math 090, 098, 100, & 112
    • Biology 
      • Physics
      • Medical Coding
      • Nursing
      • Chemistry 

      Students may schedule appointments or visit peer-tutors upon availability.  For further information contact the Student Support Services Program using the phone numbers or emails listed in the yellow box.

      Additionally, students may use the online tutorial service - Homework Alabama.  This service offers free tutoring from subject specialists.  Services are available Sunday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
