Welcome, and thank you for visiting Lurleen B. Wallace Community College! We are pleased that you are considering us to assist you in achieving your academic and career goals. LBWCC has four locations in South Alabama for your convenience. LBWCC also offers a wide range of Distance Education formats that include on-line, hybrid, telecourse, and cd/dvd to assit students in completing the degree program of their choice.
Going to college at LBWCC eases the transition to a large university and the independence and responsibility that come with living away home for the first time. All of our academic coursework is fully transferable to the four year college or university of your choice. We are able to offer smaller classes, professional faculty—whose career choice is teaching at the college level, more personal attention, the ability to live at home and remain close to friends and family, while our cost is less than one half of the tuition and fees at any four year college or university in the state. We also offer eighteen career oriented one and two year programs in technical and health fields, designed for immediate entry into the workforce.
Going to college is not all work and no fun! We have many student clubs and organizations, such as Ambassadors, Christian Student Ministries, Civitan, Drama Club, Ensemble, Phi Theta Kappa, Saints Angels, Science and Engineering Club, Skills USA, and the Student Government Association. Becoming involved on campus allows students to broaden their horizons, meet new friends, develop leadership skills, and learn about community service. LBWCC participates in intercollegiate athletics in NJCAA Division I and all games are free to students and the public.
