Distance education is a convenient way to earn college credit, especially if you are too busy to commute to campus or your work hours make traditional college classes impossible.  Before you consider taking classes as a distance learner, it’s important to determine if you have the skills necessary for success and the appropriate technology required. As a Distance Education student, you are not out there alone. There are many resources available to you to assist you with determining if you have the essential skills for distance education, technology requirements and blackboard requirements, and answers to any question that you may have. 
 

Essential skills for being successful in Distance Education at LBWCC:
 

 

Technology and Blackboard Requirements:  

 

  • Technology Equipment –

    • PC or Laptop

    • Internet Connection

    • Internet Service Provider

    • Application Software ( Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Reader)

      • Other software may be necessary based on the specific course

  • Blackboard Information – This page provides all of the technology requirements needed for Blackboard.
