Non-HS Graduate

 

An applicant who has not earned a high school diploma or GED may be admitted to certain programs of study which are listed on the left below provided he/she meets all of the admission requirements listed on the right:

 

PROGRAMS OF STUDY: 

 

 

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:  

 

 

 

*Automotive Mechanics


*Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanics


*Welding

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

        

 

      

- Must be at least 16 years of age; and 

- Must not have been enrolled in high school for at least one calendar year or have a written waiver of this requirement signed by the local superintendent; and

 - Must take the COMPASS Placement Test and make the following minimum scores on a single test date:
 

Writing – 32

Reading – 62

Prealgebra – 25

 

- Applicants who hold an Alabama Occupational Diploma may be admitted to the programs listed with this AOD diploma

- Complete the LBWCC Application for Admission 

- Submit an acceptable form of identification (notarized if not presented in person) and documentation of Alabama residency for those applicants claiming in-state status for tuition purposes (for example, an Alabama driver’s license).

Applicants must meet all admission requirements as described above AND they must also submit an official high school transcript verifying completion of the tenth grade 

 

 

 

  

 

 

Students admitted under the above criteria are classified as non-degree eligible and may not enroll in courses or programs which require the equivalent of the Alabama High School Diploma or GED. The College may establish higher or additional admission requirements for a specific program or service when student enrollment must be limited or to assure ability-to-benefit.
