Institutional Advancement

The Department of Institutional Advancement involves marketing, public relations, publications, and development. Each of these areas impact the reputation and growth of the institution.

Marketing involves communication with internal and external audiences to build the reputation and general awareness of LBWCC through clear, consistent messaging. Efforts are guided by the college-wide Marketing Committee composed of faculty, staff and administration.

The public relations arm of institutional advancement is responsible for issuing public messages through news releases, cultivating and managing the college's relationships with media representatives, and responding to media inquiries. Publications also fall under the scope of public relations, including print material, graphic design, and photography.

Development encompasses community relations, foundation relations, and special projects connected with fundraising activities. Two separate foundations provide financial support to the college and students, the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBWCC) Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.
