Foundation Scholarship Applications

 

Are you interested in applying for a Foundation Scholarship?

Incoming Freshmen or returning Sophomores may apply for LBWCC Foundation and/or MacArthur Foundation scholarships by completing the general LBW Community College Scholarship Application and making the appropriate selections.

Non-traditional students (those who are 21 years of age or older and/or those students who have been out of high school for one or more years) can also apply for scholarships by downloading, completing, and submitting the Foundation Scholarship Application for Non-Traditional Students

High School students with a 3.0 GPA can apply for a Foundation dual enrollment scholarship by downloading, completing, and submitting the Foundation Dual Enrollment Scholarship Application with all required attachments. For more information about dual enrollment scholarships, the Dual Enrollment Information Sheet is also available.

Requirements

To qualify, an applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  This GPA must be verified by the high school principal, counselor, or a valid transcript.

Foundation scholarships are for one year, in varying amounts, and can be used for tuition and fees.  Scholarships must be used Fall Semester, with remaining funds (if any) to be applied in subsequent semesters. 

Students must reapply each year.

Included with the application, students must submit two letters of reference or endorsement from any of the following:  high school faculty (teacher, coach, sponsor, principal, or counselor), or an adult who is not related. List any extracurricular activities, proposed major, club/church/organization affiliations, as well as which LBWCC campus you plan to attend. Some foundation scholarships have certain criteria pertaining to this information.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Scholarship recipients are required to write a formal letter of appreciation to the scholarship donor or representative (this information is provided upon notification of scholarship award).
