Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Foundation
The Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Foundation was formed in 1970 with the purpose of promoting and supporting the programs and activities of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and the students of Butler, Covington, Crenshaw and surrounding counties.
The LBWCC Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization and all gifts are tax-deductible as allowable by law. A gift to the Foundation may be made through a number of ways:
• Cash donations made through an individual or business
• Planned giving
• Bequests
• Tribute Gifts
• Life Insurance
• Legacies
The LBW Community College Foundation awarded 53 scholarships to area high school seniors and non-traditional students in the current academic year for a total of $87,328.
With combined funding from the LBW Community College Foundation, MacArthur Foundation and Wells Fargo Foundation, Dual Enrollment scholarships are awarded every year to high school students taking courses that count toward both high school and college credit. For the current academic year, $15,000 in Dual Enrollment Scholarships were awarded.
For the 2012-2013 academic year, Non-Traditional Scholarship Applications are due March 1, 2012, and Dual Enrollment Scholarship Applications are due March 30, 2012. For an information sheet regarding dual enrollment scholarships, click here.
