LBWCC is required to provide the same level of credentialed faculty to teach college-level courses as is required at any public four-year university in the state, so why pay more than double for classes that will transfer?
Using the STARS Articulation guide for the university from which you plan to obtain a Bachelor's Degree, the courses you take at LBWCC will transfer.
STARS is a web-accessible database system which provides guidance and direction for prospective transfer students in the State of Alabama. The STARS system allows public two-year students in Alabama to obtain a Transfer Guide/Agreement for the major of their choice. This guide/agreement, if used correctly, guides the student through his/her first two years of coursework and prevents loss of credit hours upon transfer to the appropriate public four-year university in Alabama. Although transfer guides can be printed only for two-year to four-year institutions, the STARS System can still provide guidance and direction to transfer students who have a different transfer situation.
Imagine, over the course of two years, the same education at LBWCC will save you between $9,580 and $11,940, in just fees and tuition depending on where you wish to transfer in Alabama. And if you transfer to a private university, the cost saving is even greater. Those savings don't even include the cost of housing, transportation and food at these universities.
Saving almost $12,000? That's a lot of money.
