LBWCC Foundation 2014
Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Foundation welcomed new officers and board members at the recent January meeting in Andalusia.
Accepting the role of president was Shannon Jackson of Southeast Alabama Gas District.
“It's an honor and privilege to serve as the 2014 President of the LBWCC Foundation Board,” she said. “Over the past couple of years, in addition to providing more than $103,000 annually in scholarships, we embarked on a unique investment opportunity through the construction of Saints Hall apartments adjacent to the LBWCC campus in Andalusia.
“I'm looking forward to 2014 as the Foundation Board continues to work alongside the college to provide even more scholarship dollars, to expand students' college experiences through Saints Hall, and to enhance instructional opportunities through our mini-grant program.”
Officers also include Vice President Anne Sumblin with Stone Sumblin Law LLC in Kinston; Secretary/Treasurer Debbie Marcum, PowerSouth; and Immediate Past President Kim Carter, Covington Electric Cooperative.
Elected for a three-year term are new board members Valerie McCalman with Andalusia Regional Hospital; Tari McClung, CCB Community Bank; SalLee Sasser-Williams, Andalusia Manor; and Dr. Lori Stanfield of Opp.
Continuing their service on the board are C.J. Agro with Agro ENT in Andalusia; Suellen Autrey of Greenville; Cary Baker, Shaw Industries, Andalusia; Danielle Baker of Opp; Ivan Bishop, TV Cable of Andalusia; Debbie Franklin, Mizell Memorial Hospital, Opp; Carolyn Graham, Southern Independent Bank, Andalusia; Deidra Laird, Designs by Deidra, Opp; Mark Murphy with Murphy, Murphy and McCalman Attorneys at Law, Andalusia; Billy Joe Stallworth of Andalusia; Dr. Jean Thompson of Greenville; and John Wilson, SuperFoods in Luverne.
The LBWCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the purpose of promoting and supporting the programs and activities of LBW Community College.
