Truck driver training begins Sept. 23
Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Opp is offering a six-week Truck Driver Training Program beginning Sept. 23, 2013, that will train course participants for entry-level employment as Class “A” commercial truck drivers.
Program graduates will be competent in the technical areas of hours of service regulations, vehicle inspection procedures, basic backing skills, defensive driving techniques, basic driving techniques, and recognition of driving environment hazards.
The program is designed to meet the skills standards recognized by the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) testing.
Classes are held on the MacArthur Campus of LBWCC in Opp on Monday thru Thursday, 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., for six weeks. Interested individuals must complete an Application for Admission and meet certain enrollment requirements.
A limited number of scholarships are available for the class starting Sept. 23, 2013. Enrollment and scholarships are granted on a first come first serve basis. Application packets can be picked up at your local Alabama Career Center or in Student Services at any LBWCC campus.
