Wallace at LBWCC - Andalusia TODAY
LBW Community College’s lecture series brings George Wallace Jr. to Andalusia on Oct. 22.
“We are excited to once again have George Wallace Jr. at the college named in honor of his mother, Alabama Governor Lurleen B. Wallace,” said LBWCC President Dr. Herb Riedel.
Wallace’s presentation will include memories of his father, Governor George C. Wallace, and reflect on the more personal side of the historic figure as revealed in his newly-published book, “George Wallace, the Man You Never Knew.”
“Several years ago, I started writing my thoughts about my family’s journey and the journey of my father,” said Wallace on his website at www.georgewallacejr.com. “I realized as time passed that there was so much people did not know about my father and I wanted them to know. His life in many ways was a modern day Shakespearean drama as he experienced joy, pain, suffering, regrets, redemption, reconciliation, forgiveness and ultimately salvation.”
This free public event is set for 11 a.m., Oct. 22, in the Martha and Solon Dixon Center for the Performing Arts at LBWCC in Andalusia. A book signing will follow the presentation.
