Basics of Residential Heat Pumps Course
LBWCC in Opp is offering a six-week "Basics of Residential Heat Pumps" course on Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m., Oct. 9-Nov. 13, 2012. Classes will be held in the Air Conditioning Department on the MacArthur Campus.
This course is designed as an overview of the operation of basic residential heat pump systems and components. Instruction centers around the basic theory and application of these systems as well as safety issues associated with system maintenance. The course emphasizes hands-on laboratory exercises using real world heat pumps.
Upon completion of the course, students will have an increased level of understanding of the service, repair and installation of heat pump systems.
The cost of the course is $150 per participant and includes handout material. Although a book is not required, course participants will need to supply their own basic hand tools.
