Owen is ALACRAO president-elect

Heather Owen, LBW Community College’s director of recruitment, was recently elected president-elect of the Alabama Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (ALACRAO).

The nonprofit organization seeks to contribute to the advancement of higher education in the state and works to provide information and interchange of ideas on matters of common interest and to enhance professional development of members.

“This is a dynamic group of professionals from across the state and I am thrilled to accept this leadership position,” said Owen. “I’ve been privileged to have served as past-chair of the school relations committee and this past year as district two college fair coordinator for nine counties in Southeast Alabama.”

During the next year, she will work with the executive committee to plan a program agenda and annual meeting in June 2015, at which time she will advance as the organization’s president.

Active membership in ALACRAO is institutional and open to collegiate institutions in the State of Alabama accredited or candidates for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Administrative officers of member institutions who are charged with the responsibility of admissions, registration, records, and other related functions are eligible for active participation in the organization.
