Now, even young children can get a jump start on learning at LBW Community College in Andalusia through a new preschool program.
Little Saints Preschool, located within LBWCC’s Child Development Center near Dream Park in Andalusia, is under the direction of Elizabeth Page, child development program instructor.
“For many years, it has been one of my greatest joys to work with children in a preschool setting,” said Page, who holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, is a certified early childhood teacher, and has 25 years experience working with children in Covington County as a family daycare provider, preschool teacher and director.
“In our new format with Little Saints Preschool, LBWCC’s child development students will have time dedicated to helping these three- and four-year-olds develop the skills they need to enter kindergarten,” she said. “All our activities will be centered on helping the children develop their social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills through a curriculum filled with art, music and reading.”
The preschool setting will also provide the College’s child development students opportunities to interact with young children and observe the benefit of developmentally-appropriate practices.
Little Saints Preschool will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. until noon, and is open to all children ages three or four years.
“We invite all interested parents to an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 21, and Thursday, Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. until noon both days,” said Page.
Cost for the program is $160 per semester. For more information, call 334-881-2309 or email epage@lbwcc.edu.
