Complete FAFSA now

2/16/2012

Each student hoping for any type of federal financial aid must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at www.fafsa.gov.

Using the web application is faster and easier than applying on paper.

For the 2012-2013 academic year, be prepared to use 2011 income tax returns.

Submit applications as soon as possible to allow for adequate processing time.
LBWCC’s target date is March 1, but the information will continue to be processed as it comes in.

Sometimes, an application is forwarded to LBWCC’s financial aid departments for verification, which delays processing. The sooner students apply, the better their chances of everything being in order to begin classes in the Fall.

On the FAFSA application, students must make sure to include the federal school code for the institution they will attend. LBWCC’s code is 008988.

The FAFSA is required for Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, Federal Work Study, and others.

LBWCC gladly assists veterans, and they should contact their primary campus of attendance to speak with the federal aid director.
